Field of the Invention The present invention relates to a process for the production of 2,4,4'-trifluoro-3,3'-dioxo-1,2-bis-(3,5-dichlorophenyl)-1,2-propanediol and to the use of the product as a reactive intermediate for the production of chiral compounds. 2. Description of Related Art 2,4,4'-Trifluoro-3,3'-dioxo-1,2-bis-(3,5-dichlorophenyl)-1,2-propanediol is an important intermediate in the synthesis of chiral compounds and can be obtained in good yields with high optical purity, for example from 2,4,4'-trifluoro-1,2-bis-(3,5-dichlorophenyl)-1,2-propanediol which is accessible by reaction with chlorodifluoromethane in the presence of a catalyst (cf. eg. WO 95/23105). The synthesis of 2,4,4'-trifluoro-1,2-bis-(3,5-dichlorophenyl)-1,2-propanediol is known, for example from DE 197 54 670, WO 95/23105 and EP-A-0 643 681. 2,4,4'-Trifluoro-3,3'-dioxo-1,2-bis-(3,5-dichlorophenyl)-1,2-propanediol and 2,4,4'-trifluoro-1,2-bis-(3,5-dichlorophenyl)-1,2-propanediol are both very reactive compounds and in reactions with nucleophiles and electrophiles, respectively, give rise to isomer mixtures. The two possible isomers of 2,4,4'-trifluoro-1,2-bis-(3,5-dichlorophenyl)-1,2-propanediol are the trans-isomer (M) and the cis-isomer (P). The trans-isomer M (stereoisomer M) and the cis-isomer P (stereoisomer P) are obtained in the same ratio in the synthesis of 2,4
